Pale Nails
Crème colored nails has been gaining momentum since early last year but, what surprised us at HiFash was seeing this nail color in fashion shows. There were soft milky shades at Marc Jacobs, some pure whites at Rag & Bone, and a whole bunch of unfinished French mani's at Chanel. This season, taking your nail color down a notch is the new way to play it cool.

The Dark Side
Dark colored nails are definitely in for this years fall season! From the grayish Navy shades at Jason Wu's show (OPI’s Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees) to the purplish vinyl at Marchesa (Essie Tuxedo), the dark angel look went big in just a few shows! If you want to try a darker color nail polish this season try dressing in brighter clothes to make your nails pop!

Metallic Colors
Silver, gold, copper colored nails stood out at Nicole Millers fashion show. Her nails were detailed with a diamond decal, and at Monika Chiang show she had a sleek platinum racing streak on her models fingertips. For those who want to experiment with this trend without going too far, try painting just your tips with a bit of sparkle or decorating one or two nails with specks of gold or silver and color the plain nails a dark or a brighter color.
Two Shaded Manicure
Try being bold without being over the top, the dual polish effect got plenty of play at fashion shows. A new twist on the French manicure looks very easy to do on your own. Just start contrasting different colored shades that flatter your skintone and use a small brush to paint on a nice graphic style for example a V shape effect or a diagonal strip.
